Fried Mac and Cheese
Serves 6
For The Mac N Cheese
1-pound elbow macaroni
2 cups grated cheddar cheese
½ cup sour cream
4 tablespoons butter, cut into pieces
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
1 cup milk
Ingredients
3 cups Plain bread crumbs for dredging
Flour, for dredging
4 large eggs, beaten
Oil for spraying
Preparation
1.
Cook macaroni according to package instructions.
2.
Drain and rinse with cold water. Let the pasta drain and cool for several
minutes.

Heat a Dutch oven with the milk and butter over medium heat.

Whisk in the sour crea

till smooth, then stir in
salt, pepper and the
cheeses stirring until
melted and
smooth.
5.
Stir in the drained macaroni. Pour into a shallow baking dish and chill for at
least 2
hours.
6.
Cut macaroni and cheese into squares.
7.
Dredge each Cheesy Mac square in flour, then egg, and then bread crumbs.
Roll to coat
each square.
8.
Place each square on a baking pan lined with parchment paper. Spray tops
of squares
with oil.
9.
Working in batches place in air fryer basket careful not to over crowd, (6-8
depending on
the size.)
10.
Close basket; set temperature for 400 degrees, and timer for 5 minutes.
11.
When cook time is complete, open basket and turn squares; spray again
with oil and
close basket.
12.
Set timer for 5 minutes. When cook time is complete, open basket and
remove squares
to a serving platter to keep warm.
13.
Repeat with remaining squares; serve warm.
