ISO Explanation
The ISO 4406:1999 standard currently
reflects the number of particles greater
than 4 microns, 6 microns and 14 microns.
The 4 and 6 micron ranges are used to give
an indication of the "silting" condition of a
fluid, while the 14 micron range reflects the
presence of larger "wear catalysts".
