Disassembly and Inspection
Place Motor in a Vise
Scribe Alignment Mark
WARNING
Remove Bolts
Inspect Bolts
Remove End Cover
Place the motor in a soft
jawed vise, with coupling shaft
pointed down and the vise jaws
clamping firmly on the sides of
the housing. (Figure 1)
Using a paint pen, place an
alignment mark down and
across the motor components
from end cover to housing to
facilitate reassembly orientation
where required.
If the motor is not firmly held in
the vise it could be dislodged
during the service procedures,
causing injury. (Figure 2)
Using a torque wrench, remove
four 7/8” bolts that hold the end
cover onto motor.
(Figure 3)
Inspect each bolt for damaged
or stretched threads.
(Figure 4)
Remove end cover from motor
and thoroughly wash the end
cover in proper solvent and
blow dry. Inspect end cover for
any damage. (Figure 5)
