access to alternate sets of configuration options.
Security. Provides multiple levels of security, which deters unauthorized
access to the DSU/CSU.
Typical DSU/CSU Configuration
Figure 1-1 shows a typical LAN/WAN interconnection application for the
DSU/CSU. The routers connected to the DSU/CSU at each location provide the
LAN interconnection.

User Interface Types
There are three types of user interfaces to the T1 DSU/CSU:
