The disc may have a restriction on the method of audio output. If “D.MIX” flashes in the
display when playing multi-channel DVD-Audio, only audio for the two front channels will be
output. Refer to the disc’s jacket.
[DVD-A]

Turn the volume up.

Turn muting off.
≥
Switch off the unit, determine and correct the cause, then switch the unit on.
Causes include:
–Shorting (bare wires touching) of positive and negative speaker wires.
–Using speakers with an impedance lower than that rated for this unit.
–Straining of the speakers through excessive volume or power.
–Using the unit in a hot environment without proper ventilation.

“AV/MOVIE” and “SFC MUSIC” do not work with multi-channel discs.
≥
“AV/MOVIE” does not work with 1 ch DVD-video discs.
≥
“AV/MOVIE” or “SFC MUSIC” will be cancelled when:
–A source switches to multi-channels.
–“5.1ch” is selected on disc menu.
It is activated again when a source switches to 2-channels, or stereo is selected on disc menu.

Cannot switch audio.

You cannot switch the audio in the following cases.
–When a DVD-R disc is in the disc tray while DVD drive is selected.
–When the recording mode is XP and “Audio Mode for XP Recording” is set to “LPCM”.
–When “DVD-R Rec for High Speed mode” is set to “On”

You cannot change the audio type when playing a DVD-R. (You can select “M1” or “M2” in
“Bilingual Audio Selection” in the SETUP menu before recording.)

There are discs which audio cannot be changed because of how the disc was created.

An AC mains lead or fluorescent light is near the subwoofer. Keep other appliances and
cords away from the subwoofer.

Beginning of audio is cut off
when receiving audio from a
digital broadcast using the
optical connection.

When using the “A2 AUTO” setting, sound may be cut off when the signal is being switched
automatically between Dolby Digital and PCM. Set to “A2 PCM FIX” to avoid this.

Cannot operate the television.

Change manufacturer code. Some televisions cannot be operated even if you change the code.

[HOME THEATER, TV] is not switched to “TV”. Switch to “TV” when selecting the receiving
channel for the television.

The remote control doesn’t
work.

[HOME THEATER, TV] is not switched to “HOME THEATER”. Switch to “HOME THEATER”
when operating this unit.

The remote control and main unit are using different codes. Change the code on the remote control.
Press and hold [ENTER] and the indicated
number button at the same time for more than 2
seconds.

If the IR system on your external equipment does not work, change the remote control code
to “DVD1” in the SETUP menu.
≥
The batteries are depleted. Replace them with new ones.
≥
Coloured glass may obstruct the signal reception/transmission.
≥
Don’t place the signal sensor in direct sunlight or in areas that may be subject to sunlight exposure.

The Child Lock function is activated.
