If your digital receiver has an OPTICAL OUT terminal you can
connect with this unit’s OPTICAL IN terminal to enjoy digital audio
including multi-channel Dolby Digital. Refer to your digital receiver’s
operating instructions for details.
[Note]
You cannot record digital audio received using the optical
connection. Make certain to also connect to the AV2 Scart terminals
when using the OPTICAL IN terminal connection.
Preparation
Press [HDD] or [DVD] to select “HDD” or “DVD” as the source.

Dynamic range compression
You can change this setting to listen to Dolby Digital sound at low
volume (such as late at night) and maintain audio clarity. It reduces
the peak level in loud scenes without affecting the sound field.
