1.11.9 Parallelled Telephone
Description
Multiple telephones can be connected to the same port. This is useful to increase the number of telephones
without additional extension cards. The combinations and features of the parallelled telephones are described
below.

Connections
Parallel Mode
Parallel mode involves the connection of an SLT to
an APT or a DPT that is connected to a Super
Hybrid port.
When parallel mode is enabled, the two telephones
function as follows:
•
Both share the extension number of the
telephone connected directly to the PBX (main
telephone).
•
Either telephone can make or answer a call.

Unlike parallel mode, each telephone can act as a
completely different extension with its own
extension number. (

Digital XDP
Digital XDP involves the connection of a DPT to a
DPT that is connected to a DPT port or Super Hybrid
port. The DPT that is connected directly to the PBX
is called the "master DPT", and the DPT connected
to the master DPT is called the "slave DPT".
Like XDP mode, each telephone can act as a
completely different extension with its own
extension number.
If a master DPT is connected to the PBX by a Super
Hybrid port (not a DPT port), a third telephone (SLT)
can also be in parallel or XDP mode with the master
DPT.
Digital XDP connection allows the number of DPTs
that the PBX supports to increase.
