If this is the first time you are logging in using an IP Softphone, the Select IP Extension Type window will
appear. Select the IP extension type that your system is using, and click
OK
.
The Information Panel will appear in
Compact
mode.

If this is the first time you are logging in using an IP Softphone, enter the IP address of the IP-EXT card
installed in your PBX, and click
OK
.

Before you click
OK
, confirm that the port of the IP-EXT card in the PBX is in registration mode (i.e.,
waiting for a response from the IP Softphone). For more details, refer to the documentation for the
KX-NT136.
The IP Softphone interface will be displayed. It is designed to look like a real telephone. When you have
successfully connected, “
Connecting…
” will be cleared from the IP Softphone’s displayed.
Note

In some cases, clear communication may not be possible, due to network conditions and the
specifications of the PC and headset. Confirm that trunk and intercom calls can be completed
successfully using the PA Pro Trial mode before registering a licence. A registered licence cannot
be used at another PC.
•
The feature specifications of the IP Softphone are basically the same as those for the KX-NT136
IP proprietary telephone. For details, refer to the documentation for the KX-NT136.
The feature differences from KX-NT136 are as follows:
–
Programmable melodies and ring tones are available only for tones 21-30.
–
Automatic Redial is available only for ISDN lines.
