Advanced (Recording pictures)
Note
•
When [AF-CONTINUOUS] is set, focus prediction will be performed in a possible range to
prioritize the burst speed. Therefore, if you try to take a picture of a subject that is moving fast,
it may have trouble with focusing or it may take time to focus.
•
You can select only [
], [
], [
], [
], and [
] when in Intelligent Auto Mode.
•
When [
] or [
] is selected, [QUALITY] can only be set to [
A
] or [
›
]. If you select [
] or
[
] when [QUALITY] is [
], [
] or [
], [QUALITY] will automatically change to [
A
].
•
The burst speed may become slower while taking pictures in [
] or [
] setting.
•
When [
] or [
] is selected, the exposure and white balance are adjusted for each
recording in the burst.
•
When [
], [
], or [
] is selected, exposure and white balance will be fixed to the settings
for the first picture. Depending on changes in the brightness of the subject, the recording may
be brighter or darker from the second picture.
•
Recording is performed by the electronic shutter when [
] or [
] is selected, so the
recorded picture may appear warped.
•
We recommend using the remote shutter (DMW-RSL1; optional) when you want to keep the
shutter button pressed fully while taking pictures in Burst Mode. Refer to
P207
for information
about the remote shutter.
•
When the Self-Timer is used, the number of recordable pictures in Burst Mode is fixed to 3.
•
If you are following a moving subject while taking pictures in a place (landscape) indoors,
outdoors etc. where there is a large difference between the light and shade, it may take time
until the exposure is stable. If burst is used at this time, the exposure may not become optimal.
•
The burst speed (pictures/second) may become slower depending on the recording
environment such as in dark places, if the ISO sensitivity is high etc.
•
Burst Mode is not canceled when the camera is switched off.
•
Due to the limited amount of the built-in memory, the use of Burst Mode may be limited. We
recommend having an SD card installed for reliable Burst Mode operation.
•
If you take pictures in Burst Mode with the built-in memory, it will take time to write the picture
data.
•
[
Œ
] is set for the flash when burst is set.
•
Auto Bracket, White Balance Bracket or Multi Film Bracket is canceled when Burst is
set.
•
You cannot use Burst Mode in [PANORAMA ASSIST], [FLASH BURST], [STARRY SKY],
[PHOTO FRAME] and [HIGH SPEED MOVIE] in Scene Mode
•
You cannot set [STABILIZER] to [AUTO] or [MODE2] when burst is set.
•
[AF-CONTINUOUS] cannot be selected in [FIREWORKS] in Scene Mode or when recording
motion pictures.
•
[AF-CONTINUOUS] does not work when using AF lock.
•
Face Recognition information is attached only to the first picture of the burst during recording
with face recognition. (However, the whole group is treated as Face Recognition pictures
during [CATEGORY PLAY].)
