Installation manual
Base frame
(Foundation joists)
The base frame of the house must be completely flat and level to ensure that the installation proceeds
without problems.
ATTENTION: different house can have different foundation placements – see the appended
base frame drawing (in Technical specifications)!
Place the impregnated foundation joists on the prepared foundation in accordance with the drawing at
equal intervals. The outer joists of the base frame are shorter than the middle ones, and their
installation must observe that their centre aligns with the centre of the middle joists. Make sure that the
joists are level and rectangular prior to screwing them together.
ADVICE
: It is recommended to place between the foundation joists and foundation a damp-proof
course that will protect the house from moisture and decay.
ADVICE
: To ensure protection from wind and storm, it is recommended to attach the foundation joists
to the foundation (for this, you can use for instance metal angles, anchors, etc.). The corresponding
materials are not included in the supplied kit!
Installation of foundation joists:
Walls
When installing the walls, it is important to remember that:
The logs are always assembled with their tongue upwards!
If necessary, use the hitting block and hammer! Never directly hit the tongue with the hammer!
Install the walls in accordance with the appended wall plans (see Technical specifications).
Put the first row of wall logs between the corner beams.
Follow the position of the corner beams (see the drawing)! If
possible, lay the first row by the foundation, and then lift it
onto the base frame, this way it is easier to ensure their
equal extending over the joists. Wall logs must extend over
the foundation joists a bit to protect the house against
moisture, allowing the free flow of rainwater into the ground.
It is important to observe that the corner beams are not
based on foundation joists!
