4.3.1.1 WAVEFORM ANALYSIS (cont’d)
(OPTION- Harmonic Analysis and Synthesis)
The default harmonic content is displayed based upon the percentage of the fundamental. The
EDIT
key displays a setup screen that allows selection of the harmonic content display as absolute value,
rather than percentage. Use the
+/-
key to select the setup preferences then press
DISPLAY
to return to
the harmonic data screen.
The Number of Samples Analyzed is the same as the Metering Samples Per Cycle and can be changed
in the Frequency Span setup screen (para. 2.1.1, 4.6.3.2, and 5.4.1). The value of Number of Samples
to Analyze will be as listed below. The accuracy of the harmonic calculations improves as the Number of
Samples increases. There is a small increase in the calculation time.

The LCD will always display 51 harmonic positions. The full harmonic data set is also available through
the communication port. See para. 5.5.2, Metered Data Queries,
:MEASure:SPECTrum:VOLT1[:MAGnitude] and :MEASure:SPECTrum:PHASe.
