vehicle's ability to meet any applicable EMI standards and
regulated specifications.
If an int erfe re nc e c on dit io n is ob se r ved , fo llow th e
suggestions below to reduce the amount of interference:
1. Locate the receiving antenna as far away from the
engine and as high as possible.
2. Locate the receiving antenna as far away as possible
from all metal obstructions (e.g., exhaust stacks).
3. Consult a representative of the accessory supplier in
your area to:
• Calibrate accurately the device for proper frequency,
power output, and sensitivity (both base and remote
site devices must be properly calibrated)
• Obtain antenna reflective energy data measure-
ments to determine the optimum antenna location
• Obtain optimum antenna type and mounting
arrangement for your application
• Make sure your accessory equipment model is built
for maximum filtering to reject incoming electromag-
netic noise.
