Firmware Upgrades
8.1 SD card Upgrade
The FlashBack can be upgraded by downloading firmware files from Ovation's
Secure User
Area
. If you do not have a username and password, email
with your
name, organisation and the serial number of one of your units.
Once logged-in to the Secure User Area, navigate to the FlashBack-3 section and download
the latest FB3 upgrade file. Unzip the folder and transfer the 3 files (fupdate_b.bin,
fupdate_k.bin and fudate_r.bin) on to a newly formatted SD card and follow the instructions
in the diagram below.
IMPORTANT►
Do not use SD cards of greater than 32GB when upgrading firmware.
1. Remove the SD card(s) and switch off by
pressing the blue button for 5 seconds
2. Insert the SD card with the upgrade files
(with a Dual use the right-hand slot).
3. Press and hold the Format button (Dual use
the Format “A” button).
4. Keep pressing until the status LED shows
slow flashing red (after about 5 seconds) and
release.
5. Wait unit the LED shows static red (about 2
minutes).
6. Re-boot. Upgrade is now complete.
8.2 Ethernet upgrade
It is possible to upgrade the FlashBack-3 via the Ethernet port via the FindMe Ovation
Device Manager. Please refer to the FindMe user guide available from Ovation's
Secure
User Area
.
