INFORMATION
Use the Cap Screw (27) only for adjustment of the ± 5° rotation with respect to the pelvic socket.
Maximum torque: M=2 Nm (Fig. 5.2 + 5.3 and 6).
For trial walking or upon completion of the prosthesis, tighten both 501F9=M8×30 Pan Head
Screws with a torque of M=25 Nm (Fig. 4). Secure the Pan Head Screws with 636K13 Loctite
while completing the prosthesis.
3.3.3 Flexion – extension
The desired flexion-extension setting can be attained with the Cap Screw (23) with a 4-mm Allen
wrench (Fig. 7). When you are finished with the adjustment, insert the Lock Pin (25) (Fig. 9, arrow).
3.3.4 Adjusting the tension of the hip extension assist
Loosen the Set Screw on the Lower Joint Section (Fig. 8). Then pull out the Aluminium Tube (1).
Rotate the Adjustment Nut (9) to increase or decrease the spring tension (Fig. 9).
Then insert the Aluminium Tube (1) into the Lower Joint Section all the way to the stop and clamp
in position by tightening the Set Screw (13). Use 710D4 Torque Wrench. Torque: 15 Nm. Secure
the set screw with 630K13 Loctite.
CAUTION
Risk of falling when using the tube clamp for length adjustment.
The minimum clamp length
of the tube must be observed. Make sure that the tube is fully inserted into the tube clamp.
INFORMATION
Only the 2R25=16-400 Aluminium Tube may be used. Please note the different article number
when purchasing a replacement tube later on: 2R30.
Use Lamination Dummy (26) to fabricate a connection cap for the cosmetic foam cover.
3.4 Service
INFORMATION
This component has been tested according to ISO 15032 standard for two million load cycles.
Depending on the amputee‘s activity this corresponds to a duration of use of two to three years.
We recommend carrying out regular yearly safety checks.
We recommended that you check the Modular Hip Joint after several weeks and adjust if necessary.
3.4.1 Replacing the bearing bushings:
• Press out worn bearing bushings.
• Press in two 4B130 Bushings at right angles with the side face of 4G80=N4.
• Ream the bushings using 727S9=12G7 Reamer.
• Lubricate the bushings with 633F30 Special Lubricant.
3.4.2 Lubrication
For lubricating the plastic components 633G6 Lubricant is recommended.
For lubricating metal parts sliding against each other such as Tappet (7) and Bearing Axle (24)
use 633F16 Gliding Paste. For lubricating 4B130 Collar Bushing (20) and Axis (15) use 633F30.
