brace, and securing in front. Lay down the left-hand belt-arm first (1),
followed by the right (2). Make any adjustments necessary to keep the
brace in the correct position over the hip and aligned with the Greater
Trochanter. Place Position marker on belt to identify optimal alignment of
belt and frame (3).
Tighten the belt (Figure 12)
Using the thumb loops, tighten the synching mechanism. If the cords are
too long, remove belt from patient and reset the pulley system by pulling
outward on belt.
Check the fit (Figure 13)
Ensure that the belt centerline, the brace and thumb loops are all located
properly and practice donning and doffing the brace with the patient or
appointed care giver.
Belt Arm Extension Kit (Figure 14)
If your patient’s hip circumference is larger than 48" you can utilize the
belt arm extenders.
1. On each belt arm, remove the Velcro securing tab,
2. Lay the belt arm extension over the top of the belt arm
3. Attach the Velcro on the extension arm to the belt arm and ensure
good contact. Repeat for the other size.
4. Fold the belt arm extension back onto the belt creating a loop for
receipt of the Fitting Tool.
5. Reattach the Alligator clip on the end of the belt arm extender. The
sizing and securing method are the same as the above instructions.
6. Size and adjust the belt according to the fitting instructions above.
REMOVING THE REBOUND HIP BRACE
To remove the brace, loosen the thigh strap first and then the pelvic
strap.
WASHING INSTRUCTIONS
The softgoods should be hand washed in warm water (30 °C/86 °F) with
mild detergent. Do not use bleach. Air dry flat. Do not use a tumble dryer
and do not place the product on any warm surface. The plastic
components can be wiped clean with a damp cloth and mild soap.
