2.5 FUNCTION CHECK

The  function  check  of  all  systems  should  be  performed  in  an

area free of overhead and ground level obstructions. Perform a

function check as follows:

1.

Set up machine for operation according to instruc

-

tions in Section 3, Positioning and Leveling Machine.

2.

Check that front caster wheel locks, when set, stop all 

machine rolling movement.

3.

Power up machine. Check that the Emergency Stop 

button, located on the base frame, shuts power off 

when pressed in.

4.

Check that all ground controls operate properly. Check 

that all platform movement stops immediately when 

the up or down buttons are released. Check that the 

emergency stop button stops all platform movement 

when pressed in.

5.

Enter platform check that the platform entry gate 

automatically closes.

6.

Check that the platform controls operate properly. 

Check that all platform movement stops immediately 

when the enable, up, or down buttons are released on 

the platform control box. Check that the emergency 

stop button stops all platform movement when 

pressed in.

7.

Raise and lower platform 2 ft to 3 ft (0.61 m to 0.92 m) 

several times. Check for smooth elevation and lower

-

ing of platform.

8.

With the aid of an assistant, check the operation of the 

rear wheel auto locking brake mechanism. With the 

platform elevated and clear of the chassis, observe the 

action of the rear wheel brake, ensure the wheels fully 

engage the locking tab weldments above the rear 

wheels when the platform is elevated, and is released 

when the platform is fully lowered.

9.

To test the Emergency Lowering Valve, raise platform 2 

ft to 3 ft (0.61 m to 0.92 m). Open the valve by pulling 

out the red knob. Release the knob once the machine 

is at its desired height, which closes the valve.
