• Don’t expect your wrecker to tow loads equal
to the wrecker ratings. Wrecker ratings apply
to loads imposed during recovery with the
wrecker properly stabilized.
• Do not raise, lower, or move the boom near
power lines. Hazardous voltage will cause
severe injury or death.
• To avoid birdnesting and premature failure of
the wire rope, always keep tension on the wire
rope when winding or unwinding.
• Don’t exceed ratings of booms, wire ropes,
snatch blocks, or winches. Stay within
nameplate ratings. Note that boom ratings
decrease significantly as the boom is
extended.
• Don’t drive with the wrecker boom
extended.
• When making a pull to the side, always apply
an equal load in the opposite direction of the
pull to stabilize the wrecker.
