SYSTEM disc drive reconfiguration
D E S C R I P T I O N
This function enables you to tell the c o m p u t e r how m a n y disc drives are
connected and w h e t h e r each one is single sided or double sided, 40 track
or 80 track. In addition, you can also change the name of a disc.
This function is different f r o m all the other D O S functions in that it is
not held in m e m o r y , but remains on disc until it is called up by the
c o m m a n d word.
I N S T R U C T I O N
Insert the system disc in any drive unit, then type in:
!SYS <drive number>
A page is displayed with the following information:
- - T h e title and version n u m b e r of the D O S on the disc.
- - A list of which keys to press in order to specify the various
configuration details.
- - T h e currently specified configuration of drive 0.
If you wish to change drive 0 configuration for example, to double sided
80 track, simply type in the a p p r o p r i a t e characters (D8 in this case), you
will see the characters change on the display. R e p e a t the p r o c e d u r e for
each drive, if you do not wish to change an existing configuration, just
RETURN.

After you have pressed RETURN or re-configured, for the fourth time, a
message inviting you to change the n a m e of the system disc will be
displayed.
Now, type in the new n a m e and press
to change the n a m e , simply press RETURN.
