During BIOS power-on self-test, these event messages might be displayed:

BIOS POST Event Message

Cause

ACPI Power state

User has configured a soft power-off.

Boot media failure

No bootable media was found. BIOS was configured to boot off of removable

media, yet none is available. Alternatively, bootable media is available, but lacking

true boot capability.

Correctable ECC

A correctable ECC error was detected in memory. A memory cell has failed in a

DIMM, but was corrected.

Embedded controller management

Hardware management controller was initialized.

Firmware (BIOS) ROM corruption

BIOS checksum fails although the boot block might not be corrupted. The boot

process terminates.
