Configuring the Appliance for the First Time
This section contains first-time configuration procedures for Oracle ZFS Storage Appliance.
Follow these steps to complete first-time configuration:
1.
Ensure you have completed cabling, including the serial or network cabling for Oracle
Integrated Lights Out Manager (ILOM) connectivity, as described in
2.
Configure the system through Oracle ILOM. See
.
Note:
After system configuration, a network device and its associated datalink and
interface are automatically created with administrative access. You can add
interfaces, and add or change administrative access to other interfaces during
and after initial configuration.
3.
For a standalone controller, complete initial configuration using the browser user interface
(BUI) or the command line interface (CLI). For a clustered controller, it is strongly
recommended to use the BUI.

For an overview of network interface configuration, see
in Oracle

tasks in
Configuring Management Interfaces
in Oracle ZFS Storage Appliance
Administration Guide, Release OS8.8.x.
5.
For clustered controllers, lock the management interfaces:

in Oracle ZFS Storage Appliance Customer Service Manual, Release
OS8.8.x.
