For optimal temperature measurement of the skin, the area
of the medial canthus is recommended (
Figure 6 ). At this
point there is a very good correlation to the body core
temperature.

In Figure 7 the face of a person was measured with an
infrared camera. The medial canthus is highlighted in red. In
this example the temperature of 35.1 °C is significantly higher
than the average temperature of the face (T=33.7 °C).
