6. Connecting External Devices to your sound card

This chapter describes the connectors on the sound card and the process of connecting
external devices to the sound card. You can connect the following external devices to
MAD16 Pro: a pair of speakers, headphone set, power amplifier, CD-player, microphone,
joystick, and MIDI adapter. Please have the user reference mannuals of the external
devices on hand for reference.

6.1. Connectors on the MAD16 Pro Audio Card

Figure 3 below shows the different external device connectors on the sound card.

6.2. Connecting A Pair of Speakers Or A Headphone Set to MAD16 Pro

Speakers and headphone set are connected to the Speakers-Out connector  on the sound
card. This is the top most connector on the right side of the sound card.

CAUTION
Please use the configuration program, sndinit.exe, to adjust the volume to mid-range
before connecting any speakers or headphone set to the sound card to avoid damages
to yourself or your equipment.

6.3. 

Connecting External Devices to the Line-Out Connector

The Line-Out connector is the connector immediately below the Speaker-Out connector.
This can be connected to the Line-In connector of any external amplifier, hi-fi set, etc.
