2. OVERVIEW
2.1. i- NVR MODELS
Optelecom-NKF’s i- NVR is available in two models:

i- NVR Elite
These terms are used throughout this document set. Your hardware may vary.
The following table briefly lists the key features of both models.

For an i- NVR Elite machine, on-board video suffices rather than a full-blown dedicated
graphics card.
2.2. i- NVR SOFTWARE
An i- NVR must have the following software components installed and configured. Installation
is covered in chapter 4 of this manual and configuration is covered in chapter 5
Application name Function
Wittwin Capture Records and stores video images. The installer also installs RAMDiskNT to
speed up reading and writing of files.
Multi-User Engineer Used to control and configure the i- NVR
COMMander Controls communication with multi-user clients and other i-NVR systems
Witness Multi-User Client Provides the GUI for the i- NVR
MX Configuration Tool Used to make/configure/break connections between Wittwin and cameras
EMX Optelecom-NKF’s network service
UltraVNC Used for communication between i -NVRs and clients on the network
ffdshow Used to display MPEG-4 streams
Application Launchpad Launches Wittwin and COMMander
GoLive Adds information in the GoLive directory to registry
