4.3.2. Areca SNMP configuration
Use the Areca SNMP configuration tool to set community and traps.
To set community and traps
1.
Select
Start > All Programs > Areca Technology Corp > ArcSnmp > ArcSnmpConf
.to open the
configuration tool.

In the configuration tool, set Community to
public
and SNMP trap notification
configuration to
Serious Error Notification
as shown in figure 4.12 below.
4.3.3. RAID console configuration
Access the RAID console by pointing a web browser to
http://127.0.0.1:81
with
username:
admin
and password:
0000
. On the SNMP Configuration tab, you can change the
SNMP settings. The RAID consoles of the 4/8-port and a 12/16/24-port RAID system differ
slightly, as shown in figures 4.13 and 4.14 below.
In the RAID console you must set the community. Generally this is set to
public
.
In 12/16/24-port environments, you must also set trap notifications.

The 12/16/24-disc RAID system has a RAID controller Ethernet port. Refer to the SATA
Raid Controller user manual for information on using this port.
