4-2 Switching the Operating Mode
The following diagram illustrates mode transitions for the S8AS.
The S8AS's parameters are set in Setting Mode
Note (1) One of three protection levels can be set to restrict parameter read/write
access. Parameters cannot be changed for the S8AS-24006N/48008N.
For details, refer to
4-3 Changing the Protection Level .
(2) Parameter initialization sets all S8AS parameters to their default values.
Parameters cannot be changed for the S8AS-24006N/48008N. For de-
tails, refer to
4-1 Parameter Table .
(3) Test Mode can be entered only in protection level 0 or 1.
(4) The Setting Mode, Protection Level, and Parameter Initialization displays
cannot be accessed with models that do not permit changes in parameter
settings (S8AS-24006N/48008N).
(5) If the Mode Selection Menu is entered from Test Mode and then the pow-
er is turned OFF before entering another operating mode, the S8AS will
start in Test Mode the next time it is started.
Starting for the First Time When the S8AS is started for the first time, it will enter Run Mode. The default
protection level is level 1, so the Parameter Initialization Display (INI) cannot
be entered without changing the protection level.
Starting for Normal
Operation When the S8AS is started, it will enter Run Mode. If the power was turned OFF
while the S8AS was in Test Mode, it will start in Test Mode the next time it is
started.
The Protection Level or Parameter Initialization Display can be selected from
the Mode Selection Menu. These options will not be displayed for the S8AS-
24006N/48008N.
Switching to the Mode
Selection Menu Press both the Up (SEL) Key ( ) and Down (CH) Key ( ) simultaneously
for 3 seconds to display the Mode Selection Menu.
