2.2.2 MEANING OF THE LEDS
The LEDs indicate the following machine states when they light up:
ON
Machine is powered
READY
The printer is ready to receive data from the line. This LED will also flash during the data
reception phase
LOCAL
Machine in Local mode (off-line)
STATION 1
In the Olivetti emulation, it indicates that the printer has been assigned to Operator 1
STATION 2
In the Olivetti emulation, it indicates that the printer has been assigned to Operator 2.
In the IBM PP II emulation, it prints with NLQ selected. In the IBM emulation and in an
out of paper condition, this LED will flash to indicate that there are other data to be
printed.
2.2.3 ERROR MESSAGES
The table on the next page shows the various configurations of the LEDs (except for the ON LED
which is always alight) and the meanings.
The faults are classified as follows:
(1) Fatal error. This generates a machine lock and can only be solved by shutting down the printer
and making the necessary repairs.
(2) Error that can be recovered by the operator removing the cause (paper jam) and then pressing
the ST1 key with the cover open.
