8.1.3 ADJUSTING THE DISTANCE OF THE RIBBON/NEEDLE PROTECTION FIN

MACHINE CONDITION:
Unimportant.

OBJECTIVE ADJUSTMENT:
A distance of  0.28/0.32 mm between the tips of the needles and the ribbon protection fin.

PROCEDURE:
Position the head so that surface (A) is perfectly orthogonal to the axis of comparator (B).
Loosen screw (1) that secures ribbon protection fin (2) onto the head (3) and, using the comparator,
adjust the distance of the fin/needle edge. Tighten the screws again.
