1.5.3 Maintenance of the shaft seal
CAUTION
Leakage of harmful pumping, flushing or sealing media
Periodically check the tightness of the shaft seal. An inspection hole is
provided between the seal and the ball bearing for this purpose. If the leakage
at the shaft seal is too high, replace the seals (e.g. mechanical seal, sealing
rings) as specified in the spare
‐
parts catalog. The driving shaft of the pump
must be checked for damage in the sealed part and replaced, if necessary.
12
A leak detection hole (12) is available
on the housing. Place a suitable collect-
ing basin under it and, in case of excess-
ive leakage, replace the seal.
1.5.4 Maintenance of the ball bearing
The life cycle of the bearing depends on the operating conditions of the pump.
In any case, check the ball bearing for operating noise and noticeable play once
a year.
If necessary, replace the bearings as specified in the spare
‐
parts catalog.
1.5.5 Maintenance of the sealing chambers
WARNING
Risk due to liquids spurting out
Use a suitable sealing liquid which does not pose any risk at operating
temperature, for instance by boiling.
