1.5.1 Carrying out Maintenance
CAUTION
Danger of crushing!
Maintenance activities must be carried out by the Barmag Pump Service or
the operating company's trained personnel.
For maintenance, Barmag operates special pump service facilities.
Barmag can provide relevant training for the operating company's personnel
carrying out maintenance themselves. In addition, you can order a service
manual for any type of pump from Barmag.
WARNING
Risk of getting caught by rotating drive components!

Prior to carrying out repair and service work, switch off the pump drive
and secure it against unauthorized restart.
WARNING
Risk of electric shock
Maintenance or repair of electrical components must only be performed by
qualified electricians.

Switch off the pump drive prior to carrying out repair and service work.
▶
When carrying out work on the motor, it must be de-energized and se-
cured against unauthorized restart.
CAUTION
Risk of burns caused by hot surface and/or hot liquids
▶
Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when carrying out work on
the pump or pump area.
1.5.2 Maintenance of the media connections
CAUTION
Fluids under pressure may spurt out!

Periodically check the tightness of the pipe connections at the inlet and
outlet of the pump.
▶
Make sure that the allowed pressures at the inlet and outlet of the pump
are not exceeded. The allowed pressures are specified in the pump data
sheet (see
Section 1.2.1: “Pump data sheet” [6]
).
