vacuum tubes should be transported vertically.
• Heavy goods should not be loaded on top of the kit boxes.
• Care should be taken when opening the boxes to prevent scratches or sudden
shocks to the glass.
• Do not use sharp objects to open the tube boxes.
• Unpack and install tubes only after the mounting kit and pipe work have been
installed.
• Do not leave the solar collector exposed to solar radiation when the solar loop
and collector have been drained. Collectors left exposed in a dry state must be
covered to prevent possible long term damage.
• The dark blue side of the copper within the tube is the active surface.
• The pipework of the solar collector loop is to be earthed and the collector is to be
lightning protected in accordance with local regulations.
• 4flex
®
collectors must be filled with OEG SFS solar liquids SFS article No. 516
001 505 only.
• When using OEG differential controllers of the KSW series and interval switching
of the pump trouble-free operation can only be ensured if the parameter S 2.2
is set to “on”.
• 4flex tubes can be rotated even after the system has been filled and the pressure
test has been carried out.
• 4flex tubes must be installed at a minimum vertical angle of 20° and a
maximum angle of 90°.
• The solar tubes must be installed according to the applying local regulations and
safety standards.
• All electrical connections must be carried out by a qualified electrician.

Take great care in dimensioning the expansion vessels. The diaphragm expansion vessel
must withstand a water/glycol mix and an operating pressure of at least 6 bar. The rated
volume must be high enough for the expansion volume of the heat transfer fluid (incl.
vapour volume) and 5 % of the system volume (min. 2 l) as well as the entire collector
volume. Thus the system does not suffer any heat transfer fluid even if it stagnates. It is
important to select the pipes large enough for a flow rate of > 0.4 l/sec which is required
for transporting air bubbles to the deaerator. Please see the table in chapter 7.0.
