6.15 Printer-Input Devices
Use this tab to assign a paper defintion to an input tray of the selected printer. Before you
can do this, you have to configure user defined paper definitions using the 'Paper' tab.
6.16 Paper
You can us the ’Paper’ dialog to define paper types which are available throughout the
whole system. You need paper types
•
for the use in DPconnect
•
as input parameters for conversion. Most of the default paper types are already pre-
defined in the ’Standard Papers’ table. They are also offered in the ’Convert’ dialog in
the PJM. For the conversion only the size of the paper is relevant.
•
to describe the contents of the input trays. You can use the ’User defined Paper’ table
to define any paper with specific attributes. These paper types are available in the
’Printer-Input Devices’ application.
Use the ’Forms’ table to define forms which can be assigned to a job under the PJM dialog
’Jobattributes’ -> ’Printer’. The form names also appear in the job lists.
The ’Tabs’ table displays all available tabsets together with their description. These tabs are
available in the ’Tab-Printing’ dialog of the PJM (POD only). You have to select the tabset
which corresponds to the tabset inserted into the printer.
’Printer’
Select the printer for which the definition should be valid. You can choose
among all printers installed on the system. The input trays presented depend
on the configuration of the selected printer (see ’Input Devices’ on page 191).
’Input Devices’
Name of the input bin as indicated in 'Configuration' -> 'Printer' -> 'Input De-
vices'.
’Physical Number’
Physical number of the input bin as indicated in 'Configuration' -> 'Printer' ->
'Input Devices'.
’Paper Name’

and saved as 'user defined' papers on the 'Paper' tab.
Interrupts again the connection between paper and input bin.
