- ‘In Zone Alert ON/OFF’: select ‘ON’ to activate an alert when your heartbeat is within
your objective heart rate beat zone (between lower and upper limit).
- ‘Above Zone Alert ON/OFF’: select ‘ON’ to activate an alert when your heartbeat is
over the upper limit.
- ‘MHR alert ON/OFF’: select ‘ON’ to activate an alert if your heartbeat passes over your
estimated Maximum Heart Rate.
• Press the [U] or [D] button to set the value of the flashing setting (hold the buttons to
change set value at a higher speed).
• Hold the [M] button for 2 seconds to save your settings and exit the setting sequence. If
NO keystroke has been activated for 1 minute, the watch will automatically exit the
setting sequence.
How to use the heart rate zone alert
Activate the heart rate zone alert following instructions
of the previous chapter ‘How to set the heart rate zone
alert’. The icon “ZONE” is displayed when the heart
rate zone alert is activated. If the acquired heart rate
is out of the chosen objective heartbeat zone, it will flash.
Within the objective region (in zone alert)
• If your hear rate is within your objective heartbeat
zone, the digits will remain still and will flash.
The Watch will also beep twice every 15 seconds if
‘In Zone Alert’ has been set to ON (see previous
section).
Exceed the objective region (above zone alert)
• If your heart rate exceeds the upper limit of your
objective heartbeat zone, and pulse values will
flash. The watch will also beep twice every 15 seconds if ‘Above Zone Alert’ has been
set to ON (see previous section).
Below the objective region (below zone alert)
• If your heart rate is below the lower limit of your objective heartbeat zone, and
pulse values will flash. The watch will also beep twice every 15 seconds if ‘Below Zone
Alert’ has been set to ON (see previous section).
Over maximum heart rate (MHR Alert)
• If your heartbeat passes over your estimated Maximum Heart Rate, the watch will beep
four times every 10 seconds if ‘MHR Alert’ has been set to ON (see previous section).

• This watch will compare this result with the upper and lower limits previously set and
alert you to take actions e.g. slow down or speed up, to return to the objective heartbeat
zone.
An example
: The following exemplifies the heart rate alert function:
A fit man, 30 years old, sets his objective heartbeat zone with a lower limit of 60% of MHR
and an upper limit of 80% of MHR.
• During exercise, he reaches 171 beats per minute (BPM)
• His calculated MHR = 220 - 30 = 190 BPM
• Percentage of maximum heart rate = 171 / 190 x
100 % = 90 %
His heart rate has passed the upper limit of 80 % MHR.
The watch will alert him that he slows down to go back
to his objective heartbeat zone.
How to set the heart rate zone alert
To use the Heart Rate Zone Alert, you need to have set
your age. See chapter 2, “current time mode”.
• Press the [D] button in Current Time Mode to get to
the Heart Rate Mode.
• Hold the [M] button for 2 seconds until ‘ON’ or ‘OFF’
starts flashing.
• Press the [U] or [D] button to set the value of the
flashing setting.
• Press the [M] button to select between the flashing
settings:
- ’Zone ON/OFF’: select ‘ON’ to activate heart rate
zone alert.
- ‘Select Alert Zone’: choose one of the four Alert
Zones proposed by this watch to best suit your
application. Zone 1-3 are pre-defined, Zone 4 can be
defined by setting upper and lower limits in beats per
minute or in percentage of Maximum Heart Rate. Refer
to chapter 2 ‘current time mode’ to set upper and lower
limits of zone 4.
- ‘Below Zone Alert ON/OFF’: select ‘ON’ to activate an
alert when your heartbeat is below the lower limit.
