This message informs us that when [ENTER] is pressed, the instrument will preset to
receive the exclusive messages from the external unit.
Once the [ENTER] key has been pressed, the display shows the message "WAITING FOR
DATA", which means that the MC 2000 is waiting for the external unit to send it the
exclusive codes, while the message below ([F5]="
END LEARN
") indicates that when
transmission is complete, [F5] must be pressed to end the acquisition procedure.
N.B.
The capacity of each table is 63 Bytes; once this limit is exceeded the MC 2000 will
automatically stop acquisition, while retaining the bytes acquired up to this limit.
At the end of the operation, if there have been no problems, the display will show the
message "
LEARNING COMPLETE!
" and after this all the bytes of the code just acquired
will appear. Otherwise, the message "
NO DATA LEARNED!
" will appear, and then all the
bytes of the old codes present in the memory will continue to appear; these can still be
modified by locating on each of them with the cursor keys and varying its value using the
Data Entry devices. This operation is also possible from the main "SYS-EX TABLE" page,
by pressing the function key [F6] (
edit
) which gives access to the same page.
Once the codes have been acquired, or entered in manual mode, to preserve them the
user must first exit from the "LEARN" or "EDIT" page by pressing [ESC], returning to the
main "SYS-EX TABLE" page.
To save the contents of the table, the user must press the [WRITE] key from the main SYS
EX TABLES page. The display will show:
