"
SYS-EX
" field and confirming with [ENTER]. The video page which appears will be as
follows:
Once the zone of interest has been selected, function key [F2] (location on the "
SYS N
"
field) is pressed to select the number of the table containing the Sys-Ex to be associated
to the zone. The field in question has a range of OFF (no message sent) P1-P32, U33-
U48.
A Sys-Ex table is a memory location containing MIDI data (in byte form), the contents of
which can be freely defined by the user in the instrument's utilities. The MC 2000 offers 32
preset data tables (containing both strings dedicated to the sound boards recognized, and
general purpose strings), plus 16 which can be set and programmed by the user without
restrictions.
Although the Sys-Ex table is dedicated to the management of exclusive system data, it can
actually contain any type of bytes included in the range permitted by the MIDI protocol: this
allows the most expert user to create his own personalized strings, which can contain not
only exclusive system messages, but any MIDI instruction, including Control Changes,
Program Changes, RPN, NRPN, etc.
When the "SYS N" field is selected, the display will show the display field which will
contain the name of the table as shown in the illustration.
Note that:
•
The display field only appears if the "SYS N" field is selected and is other than OFF.
This field cannot be selected with any of the cursor location systems.
After selection of the "SYS N" field, it will be possible to use the Data Entry devices to
select the value of the field in the permitted range, and at each selection the contents of
the display field showing the name of the sys-ex table will be updated in real time.
Once the desired selections have been made, the [ESC] key is pressed and the display
will return to the OUT MESSAGES sub-menu.
Press [ESC] again to return to the Edit MAIN menu page.
