3. Smart Home Demonstration
The chapter describes how to use the contents of the JN516x-EK001 Evaluation Kit
to set up and run the pre-loaded JenNet-IP Smart Home Demonstration.
3.1 Demo System Overview
This JenNet-IP Smart Home Demonstration is based on a wireless network (WPAN)
with nodes containing lights, which may be monitored and controlled as follows:
wirelessly from a Remote Control Unit within the WPAN
via an IP connection from a remote device on a LAN or WAN (e.g. from a PC)

The following components of the JN516x-EK001 Evaluation Kit are used in the
demonstration (for detailed descriptions of the components, refer to
Carrier Boards with Pre-fitted Expansion Boards:
Each board assembly can
act as a node of the WPAN and is pre-programmed as a WPAN Router. The
lights to be controlled are as follows:
Lighting/Sensor Expansion Boards (3):
Three White LEDs
Generic Expansion Board (1):

software supplied in the Application Note.
Note 2:
This demonstration is based on the JenNet-IP
protocol and will allow you test most of the components
provided in the kit. Demonstrations based on the other
supported protocols are available from NXP as
Application Notes, which can be loaded and run using
this evaluation kit - see
Caution: The LEDs on the Lighting/Sensor Expansion
Boards are very bright at maximum intensity. To avoid
damage to your eyes, do not look into them directly for
an extended period of time.
