MAINTENANCE
An ENVOY Router does not require any periodic electrical or physical maintenance
other than to periodically wash the air filters and check for proper cooling air flow,
check the LED indicators, and replace a fuse if it opens. Procedures for checking these
items are presented below.
Washing Air Filters
Cooling air for the electronics frames enters through vents in the front of the frame
door. Air filters to remove dust and contaminants from the air intake are located on the
inside of the front door. Periodically inspect these filters and wash them in soap and
water whenever they appear dirty.
To remove the filters for cleaning, just pull them off of the adhesive strips that hold them
in place. To reinstall them on the door, just position the filters over the adhesive strips
and press on them until they stick.
Warning:
The following procedures should be performed by qualified service
personnel only. Do not perform a procedure unless you are qualified to do so.
Dangerous voltages and high temperatures are present on the Power Supply Card.
Take precautions to prevent burns and electric shocks: Do not touch exposed wires or
components, such as heat sinks.
Caution:
To prevent product damage, follow these precautions:
DO NOT DROP OR BANG BOARDS, DO NOT STACK BOARDS, AND DO NOT
FORCE BOARDS INTO THE FRAME. Boards should insert easily with a gentle push.
If any board is hard to insert, stop and call the factory for help before connectors
become damaged.
Caution:
To prevent damage to the equipment after washing filters, be sure filters are
completely dry before reinstalling them on the door.
