Installing the NV6064
To install an NV6064 router, follow the steps below:
1. Determine the placement of the NV6064 frame in the rack. Note that the NV6064
requires 12 RUs of vertical rack space.
2. Open the frame door and remove it by lifting the door upward off the hinges.
3. Lift the frame into position and attach it to the front of the rack with rack screws,
being sure to place screws in all frame mounting holes.
4. At the rear of the frame, connect power cords from the AC power source to the
Power Supply connectors. See “
POWER CORD WIRING”
in the front of this
manual for more information. Also see
"Power Supply Safety for All Models" on
page 2-4
.
5. Referring to
Figure 1-2
in Section 1, install the circuit modules, and ensure each
one is fully seated in the frame:
a. Input Boards with component side to the right.
b. Output Boards with component side to the left.
c. Crosspoint Boards with component side up.
d. Power Supplies as appropriate.
6. Connect cables to the frame rear connectors as explained in the
"NV6064 System
Description" on page 1-4
in Section 1.
7. Reinstall and close the frame front door.
Note:
The power cords supplied with this equipment provide the only means
of AC mains disconnection. The AC source power outlet must be near the
equipment and must be easily accessible.
Caution:
To prevent damage to the frame door, do not use the door handle
to lift the frame.
Warning:
The ENVOY frame is too heavy for one person to lift. Use an
equipment jack or get the help of an assistant to lift the frame.
Note:
Modules can be installed or removed with the power on.
