NV6257 POWER SUPPLY FRAME FOR 6256/8256
The 6257 Power Supply frame which powers the NV6256 and NV8256 routers
contains four PS6000 main power supplies and four PS6000 redundant power
supplies. Referring to the frame front shown in
Figure 1-10
, the power supplies are
arranged in two banks of four. The legend above each bank identifies the power
supplies in that bank; PS1-PS4 in one bank and PS5-PS8 in the other. The main and
redundant supplies in these banks are the following:
Main Power Supplies:
1, 3, 5, and 7
Redundant Power Supplies:
2, 4, 6, and 8

are identified below:

IEC Standard Power cord connectors for each of the eight power
supplies, PS1 through PS8. The connector numbers correspond to
the power supply numbers; that is, connector PS1 connects to
Power Supply 1, PS2 to Power Supply 2, and so on.

Output Power 2 connector for the cable to the NV6256/8256
Electronics frame Power Input 2 connector (see 2 in
Figure 1-7
).

Alarms connector for connection to external alarm circuits. See
"Power Supply Alarms Connector (6256/8256)" on page 1-35
for
connection details.

Monitor connector. Connect to Power Supply Monitors connector on the back
of the NV6256/8256 Router frame using supplied cable.
Note:
Four (4) PS6000 Power Supplies in the correct combination are required for
normal operation. The power supplies are wired together as main and redundant
pairs: 1 & 2, 3 & 4, 5 & 6, 7 & 8. At a minimum, one of each pair must be installed
and working.
