ID
A number to manage user information. ID is issued when you register as a new user.

IP
Short for Internet Protocol, and communication specifications used over the Internet as standard
IP address
An address that identifies the device connected to the Internet. Normally, it is expressed as four-digit
numbers (0 to 255) separated with a period as “XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX”, and is assigned to every device
connected to the Internet.
ISDN
Short for Integrated Service Digital network, and a comprehensive digital communication network.
Enables faster communication speed than an analog telephone line.

Modem
A device that allows PC to communicate via a telephone connection

Packet communication
Communication mode to transmit data divided into small packages on the network. This strategy
improves transmission efficiency over the network by cutting in transmitted data with different data or
dividing into small size of data for communication.
Port
An auxiliary address attached under an IP address to communicate with multiple parties at the same
time over the Internet. Specifying a port uses numeric from 0 to 65535 which is called the “Port Number”.
Properties
“Attributes” or “configurations” of Windows files or icons. Select and right-click an icon to look-up or
change properties.

Communication specifications used to exchange data between PCs

QoS
Short for Quality of Service, and the service quality of network. Specifying the data communication
speed is available in the FOMA terminal QoS setting. (Connection speed varies depending on the
communication condition.)

Deleting the downloaded external data from PC
Utility
Software that improves utilization of the FOMA terminal by providing various auxiliary functions

W
W-CDMA
Short for Wideband Code division Multiple Access, and the 3rd generation mobile communication
system (IMT-2000) certified as global standards. This is wideband code division multiple access and one
of the multiple access systems for wireless communications.
The FOMA terminal complies with W-CDMA standards.
