Input/output connectors and devices

The input/output connectors that are available to the NovaScale Blade Server are supplied by the 
NovaScale Blade Chassis unit. See the documentation that comes with your NovaScale Blade 
Chassis unit for information about the input/output connectors.

The NovaScale Blade Server has two selection buttons on the control panel: the CD/diskette/USB 
select button and the keyboard/mouse/video select button. See “Understanding the control panel and 
LEDs” on page 13 for information about these buttons and their function.

The Ethernet controllers on your NovaScale Blade Server communicate with the network through 
the Ethernet-compatible switch modules on the NovaScale Blade Chassis unit. Network signals to 
and from the NovaScale Blade Server or any expansion cards are automatically routed to a same-
network-interface switch module through circuitry in the NovaScale Blade Chassis unit.
