Setting Up a Basic Network
The following steps are used to set up a Cable Modem network using the
LCn utility.
1. Install DOCSIS LCn Provisioning Server
2. Login with default user ID and password
3. Modify the default user password, if desired
4. Add new users with desired access rights
5. Modify the server configuration to create the correct format output
6. Create a new authorization key for the network, or accept the default
7. Create a service class with the required parameters, or accept the
default
8. Create a network with the required parameters
9. Add the cable modems and cable modem termination systems to the
configuration
10. Start the servers if they are running on the LCn PC
11. Update the network configuration files to create the run time tables
and files
