CMTS 1000 Installation Manual V1.2

Step #5: Upgrade and Compile the Latest CMTS SNMP MIB

The new MIB must now be loaded and compiled to allow proper SNMP
management of the cable modems and headend equipment that you
upgraded. Refer to Chapter 4, Troubleshooting, for the proper loading
sequence of the MIB files.

Refer to Chapter 4, Troubleshooting, for detailed descriptions of the CMTS
1000 MIB variables.

Step #6: Verify Upgrade Completed Successfully

Using an SNMP manager, verify the software version of the upgraded
CMTS 1000 as follows:

1.

Using MIB II, select Basic.

2.

Select System and List System Info.

3.

The SNMP manager displays the SystemInfo Table.

4.

The Object ID indicates the product ID and the software version.

5.

If you’re using SNMPc, you can click on the SNMPc Poll button.

The manager will display the IP Address of the selected device, and the
product ID along with the software version.
