OSCILLATING QUILL ATTACHMENT
The oscillating quill attachment causes the cutter to move up and down a small
amount at the bottom of the plunge. When cutting steel doors this allows more of
the cutting edge to be used to cut the steel skin.
On the left side of the machining head there is a bracket with two sensors. There is
also a movable tab. The tab can be rotated to activate the sensors. See Photo D.
• When the tab moves past the sensor there should be 1/16” clearance or less. The
tab should never touch the sensor.
• There is an upper sensor and a lower sensor. If they are reversed the system will
not function.
• The spacing of the sensors and the angle of the tab will determine the amount of
oscillation.
• Adjust the position of the tab so the quill will go all the way down and when it
comes back up the cutting edge of the cutter does not go above the bottom skin of
the door.
• Point the tab up to turn off the oscillating quill attachment.
