5.1.2.
Method of preparing a standard mercury gas
Note that the calibration kit CK-1 (option) is needed here.
Prepare a standard gas sample in a Tedlar bag.

Adjust the flow rate of the PS-4 to 1 L/min beforehand.
(2)
Connect the calibration kit as shown in the figure below. Open the cock.
(3)
Set the timer of the PS-4 to 3 minutes and then start it. Verify that the flow rate is 1
L/min.
(4)
Remove a sample of gas with a syringe from the standard gas box.
Insert the syringe into the sampling port, move it up and down 2 or 3 times to
ensure a good fit, and then remove the required sample amount (3 mL).
CAUTION
Verify the temperature of the gas when it is sampled as it is needed to calculate the
concentration of the standard mercury gas.
