Lathe functions
The following functions are available on
when you select Lathe
Machine:

Vectoring
•
Taper
Summing
You use this function to show the combined movement of the X-Z or Y-Z
axes pair. The summing axis pair can be displayed on any axis to suit your
requirements.
This actually acts as a DRO mode rather than a stand-alone function. It
has the following soft keys:
You use this soft key to select the summing pair on each axis. When
you press this key, the following options are displayed for each axis:
Acts as a normal axis.
You can select this option for the X-axis
You can select this option for the Z-axis.
Exits to the main screen without saving the changes.
Sets the changes done and exits to the main screen.
Exits to the main screen without saving the changes.
When you set a particular axis to sum mode, its axis legend changes to 'S'
and the summing pair is shown below the axis legend.
Vectoring
You use this function to combine the movement of the X and Z axes with
the angle of the compound slide.
Combined X movement = X + Z' (Sin

Combined Z movement = Z + Z' (Cos

Where

is the vectoring angle.
It has the following soft keys:
Turns the function on. When you apply the function, 'Vect' is shown
below the axis legends to show the vectoring angle. The DRO switches
back to normal counting mode and the X and Z axes show the combined
vectored position. You can perform other functions on these new vectored
positions.
Turns the function off.
Changes the vector angle if required.
