Mill functions
Polar coordinates
This function converts the position of the two selected axes into Polar
coordinates. To activate this function, first select the plane and then press
. The following screen is displayed.
It has the following soft keys
Switches between graphic mode and normal counting mode.
Exits from the function.
Axis summing
The summing is to allow for the position of the Mill table relative to the tool
to be shown for machines fitted with both a knee (W) and quill (Z) axis-
scale. Essentially the axes are added to form a single compound axes S.
This option is only visible for a 4-axis DRO. It has the following soft keys:
Turns this mode on. This switches the DRO to 3-axis display and
the third axis shows the sum of the Z-axis and the W-axis.
Turns this mode off. This switches the DRO back to the 4-axis
display.
Applies the selected option and exits from the function list.
Zero approach
You use this function to turn the Zero approach bar graphs on or off in
normal mode of operation. It has the following soft keys:
Turns the zero approach on.
Turns the zero approach off.
Exits from the function list.
Job timer
This is a timer utility and you can use it to get the time or rate for
completing a particular job. It has the following soft keys:
Starts the Job Timer.
Stops the Job Timer.
Resets the Job Timer.
Exits from the function list.
You use this to enter the machining rate in units per hour for the
machine on which the DRO is operating. If you set this to zero, the main
DRO screen shows the Job Timer; otherwise it shows the machining cost.
Enter the rate using the numeric keys, then press
to save the value.
