The steel oil pan (sump) (1) is secured to the engine
block by an aluminium plate (3) and a rubber gasket
(2). See figure 2-41.

The C-section rubber gasket (2), installed on the
edge of the oil pan, enhances sealing properties and
also reduces noise levels.
