Opening the appliance
Opening the
appliance To open the appliance for access to the internal FRUs, complete the following
steps, using the figure for reference.
Step Action
1 Ground yourself using an antistatic wrist strap, then shut down the
appliance by entering the following command at the prompt:
halt
2 Unplug the appliance and disconnect it from all power sources.
Note
Because of the weight of the C2100, you should remove the power
supplies before removing the appliance from the equipment rack. See
“
Removing a power supply from the C2100 ” on page 89.
3 Remove the bezel, then loosen the screws that hold the appliance to
the equipment rack and remove it from the rack.
4 Press the black button on the left of the appliance lid, gently press the
heel of your hand on the black pad on the front of the lid, then slide
the lid up and to the rear of the appliance.
