This section explains the terminologies and phrase used in this product.
Terminology
Description
Activation
This is the process to enable the security/scan function of this product.
At initial startup, user can use the security/scan function of this product by notifying
the license server of the license of this product. The state where the series of
processing is completed is called "activated". (The license start date is the date in
which activation was successful or 31 days after the delivery of this product,
whichever comes first).
Individual Permission
This is the name of the function to set specific communication to be excluded from
threat detection. Works as a whitelist.
Signature
A database (such as a list of viruses and a list of dangerous web sites) used by this
product to detect various threats. This product regularly updates the signature and
always uses the latest information. Signatures are sometimes called definition files.
The signature is used with the following functions.
Antivirus (AV), Intrusion Prevention (IPS), Web Guard (WG), Application Guard
(APG)
Security/Scan Function
This is the name of the security function of this product.
It has the following functions. Fire Wall (FW), Anti Virus (AV), Intrusion Prevention
(IPS), Web guard (WG), Uniform Resource Locator filtering (UF), URL Filtering (KF),
Application Guard (APG).
Web Setting
The name of the screen for product setting.
Access http://169.254.254.11 using a browser to open the Web setting.
Traffic
In this document, it is used as a generic term of a frame and a packet.
It is commonly referred to as PDU (packet data unit).
Node
Network equipment
It refers to personal computers (PC), smartphones, switches, routers, etc.
Packet
In this document, it is used as a generic term of Layer 3 traffic of the OSI reference
model.
Frame
In this document, it is used as a generic term of Layer 2 traffic of the OSI reference
model.
