BIOS Redirection Console
This chapter describes how to setup the BIOS Redirection Console feature.
Definition
The BIOS redirection Console is a feature implemented in the BIOS of the
motherboard of your NS170.
It allows you to see on a second machine, everything located on the screen of the
NS170 during the booting phase.
When the boot phase reaches the Windows 2003 logo, the BIOS redirection console
stops displaying live information.
Note:
The BIOS Redirection Console only works when the
processor is running in real mode and stops functioning when it
goes in protected-mode.
Requirements
A NULL MODEM serial cable is required to connect your NS170 to a client through
its serial port.
Use COM1 located on the rear panel to connect your client to the NEC Storage NS170.
